The Egyptian Ministry of Environment inaugurated the National Initiative to Reduce Plastic Bag Consumption in Egypt, with the participation of Cedare and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), under the umbrella of the SwitchMed project, which is being implemented with funding from the European Union Consumption of plastic bags, as it represents a threat to public health, environment and economy, where reports revealed that the Egyptians consume 12 billion bags of plastic per year.
