As a representative of The Johns Hopkins University Center for Communication Programs (JHU/CCP) with past responsibility for Regional Programs in the Middle East and present role as Director of Private Sector Programs, I have known and worked closely with Mr. Galal Zaki since 1994. I am writing to recommend him most highly for the faculty position with AUC in Journalism and Mass Communication, focusing on Strategic Communication.
Mr. Zaki’s distinguished CV attests to his many achievements. Rather than repeat the details of the memorable campaigns on which I have been honored to work with Mr. Zaki, I would instead like to emphasize why I think he would be an exemplary teacher – one most qualified to inspire and educate a new generation of leaders in communication.
Mr. Zaki knows deeply that communication is both an art and a science. And he is able to convey this important truth with the skill of an artist. He is engaging, informative, entertaining, and inspiring as a speaker and teacher. JHU CCP has invited him as a lead trainer for its programs on many occasions, and his creativity has enlivened many media campaigns. Mr. Zaki is a born communicator, so when it comes to conveying the creative heart of communication, in Mr. Zaki’s case, the medium is truly the message.
My name is Nader Nassif. I used to be the Corporate Social Responsibility Team Leader in an USAID funded project called Takamol from 2006 to 2011.
I worked very closely with Mr. Galal Zaki during this period and we asked him several times to give lectures in different governorates in Behaviour Change Communication and Corporate Social Responsibility. A lot of these lectures were given in difficult circumstances and with different audiences with different backgrounds.
Mr. Zaki always proved to be able to communicate and give information to any kind of audience. He was very informative and he knows how to attract the audience in an entertaining way to capture their attention. I find this as the result of his long experience in this arena, his passion and his pleasant personality.
I definitely recommend Mr. Zaki for any position that includes communication, conveying information, teaching, giving lectures, etc.
My name is Mohamed Abou Nar and I am currently the Country Manager for Pathfinder International in Egypt. I have known Mr. Galal Zaki for more than nine years. We worked with Galal in several communication projects as he was our key advisor, consultant and trainer. Galal always came very well prepared, he was always consistent, compassionate and reliable. He is so dedicated to his profession.
When he began any training session, it was immediately evident that Galal had a love for the profession and a sincere interest in and concern for the audience. He was always willing to come up with creative cases that proved to be interesting and educationally effective.
IN our work, Galal has always approached any and all aspects of the work involved in Mass and Strategic Communication with eager anticipation. He wrote extremely detailed and well thought out plans. He has always been thoughtful and professional. He was always willing to adjust any parts of his work so it could be improved.
Galal always maintained a level of efficiency that was fueled by his obvious work ethic and his professional concern for progress. No time was wasted in his work.
Overall, I would not hesitate to offer Galal any related position in my organization as he will always do an outstanding job and become an asset to the organization.
Last but not least, it is always fun to work with Galal.
